...to a place where you can peek in and imagine what life married, a Christian & homeschooling 9 children in the Southwestern Desert of the US might be like. Officially, we, the parents (Gilbert & Anne) are "in charge" and have everything under control. I can honestly vouch that right this very minute I am in charge of all details large & small entailed in the management of our home and family. (Okay, maybe that's because it's 4:30 am and 10 out of 11 of my family members are in their beds being their cooperative best.) Once that first child gets up, the wild roller coaster ride that is our "Vida Loca" begins again. But realizing I'm not really "in control" is not really a terrible thing. Life has gotten richer as I've realized my shortcomings, increased my dependence on God and become a whole lot more flexible and prepared to expect the unexpected, the unthinkable and the downright amazing. "In raising my children, I have lost my mind but found my soul."
I'm a Christian SAHM homeschooling my 9 children.
I'm married to my highschool sweetheart, Gilbert. How lucky am I to grow through good times and bad with him and never not enjoy each other's company. I am a teacher by trade who is currently homeschooling my own clan. That is both extremely taxing and rewarding all in one. My kids are truly a blessing. Being a mother is a responsibility in which I stive to do my best and find it easy to be overwhelmed with love for them that can be awkward to experience, let along express. We both hope the kids make their own way in the world but stay close to family and visit often once they are grown. We marvel at how unique and amazing each child is and hope we prepare and support them to make their mark on the world. We work hard and play hard---a pretty busy and intense family.
